Our Services

Currently, PAWS NY’s services fall into three complementary program areas, each of which provides a critical element of a multi-layered support system designed to help our clients overcome the physical and financial limitations they face caring for their animal companions.

Programs

Our services enable people and pets to stay together.

Housecall Program: This is our core program through which PAWS NY volunteers provide on-site home visits to our clients. Visits may include: dog walking, litter maintenance, provision of food and water, transportation to/from the vet, and grooming.  We can also provide emergency and/or foster care if an existing client finds himself in the hospital.  Please note that foster and emergency care is only available to existing PAWS NY clients at this time.

PAWS Pet Pantry: PAWS NY partners with food banks and food delivery services, and distributes pet food and supplies on a limited basis to people who are having trouble buying food for their pets. We evaluate each client on a case-by-case basis and offer services accordingly.  At this time, our Pet Pantry program is only available to existing clients who are receiving on-going assistance from PAWS NY volunteers.

Referral Network: In addition to offering information and services directly, we often find situations where we can assist clients or other interested individuals by helping them access other community resources.  As such, we make referrals to organizations that provide relevant free or low-cost services.

  • Be a New York City resident
