<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sadly, two longtime clients of PAWS NY passed away recently, and we are looking for a new home for their sweet pets: Gigi and Baby Boy. Are you interested in adopting either of them? </span></p>

She loves to be around people and is good with other dogs, and she needs some extra love as she lives out her golden years.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As a senior pup, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvzooQePCpR/">Gigi</a> deals with joint pain and is on a few daily medications. She doesn’t do well with stairs, so a home without steep steps would be ideal. We’re also hoping her fur-ever home will be with someone patient and strong, who can give her an occasional boost on her walks. </span></p>
<hr />
<p><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-5700 alignright" src="https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/BabyBoy1.jpg?resize=321%2C214&#038;ssl=1" alt="A brown, gray and white tabby cat sits on a couch, reaching his face up to sniff a hand that is petting him." width="321" height="214" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/BabyBoy1.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/BabyBoy1.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/BabyBoy1.jpg?resize=768%2C512&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/BabyBoy1.jpg?w=1200&amp;ssl=1 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 321px) 100vw, 321px" /></p>
<p><b>Update as of December 20, 2023: Baby Boy has been adopted!<br />
</b></p>
<p><b>Handsome Baby Boy</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> is also looking for a new home. A neutered, mellow senior cat who loves attention, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/CqVcm1xvuaB/">Baby Boy</a> hasn’t lived with other pets, but would likely be fine with other calm and friendly pets in the home. He is healthy and would make a wonderful, low-maintenance animal companion.</span></p>
<hr />
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you are interested in adopting either of these pets, please </span><a href="https://pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/PAWS-NY-Adoption-Application_updated-2020.docx"><span style="font-weight: 400;">click here to download and complete</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> our Adoption Application and email it to </span><a href="mailto:Liz.Raganella@pawsny.org"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Liz.Raganella@pawsny.org</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. We&#8217;re hoping to find them fur-ever homes in the NYC area.</span></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You may recognize <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CKzaJ08AQBM/">PAWS pup Peanut</a>, who has been in foster care for the past year while his guardian dealt with complicated health concerns. Sadly, Peanut&#8217;s guardian passed away, and PAWS NY is currently working to find him a forever home. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="alignright size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" src="https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Peanut2.jpg?resize=384%2C512&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-3431" width="384" height="512"/><figcaption>Peanut loves snuggles and naps</figcaption></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Peanut is a gem and would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a super sweet companion! Here&#8217;s some more information about this adoptable pup:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li>14-year-old neutered Chihuahua / Pug mix, about 15lbs</li><li>Friendly and affectionate</li><li>Quite healthy for his age</li><li>Kid-Friendly</li><li>Housebroken but also uses pads</li><li>Would do well with another smaller dog or cat, no large and/or high energy dogs</li><li>Deals with separation anxiety </li><li>We&#8217;re seeking an adopter who spends the majority of their time at home or can travel with him (he&#8217;s travel sized!)</li></ul>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="alignleft size-large is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Peanut-1.jpg?resize=400%2C300&#038;ssl=1" alt="Peanut" class="wp-image-3430" width="400" height="300"/><figcaption>Peanut</figcaption></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Peanut&#8217;s foster says, &#8220;Peanut&nbsp;is very easygoing and enjoys a snooze, but also loves getting outside for walks (and sometimes runs!) around the neighborhood.&#8221; </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;He&#8217;s great on the leash and with other small/older dogs (no puppies) and once he&#8217;s settled in, is happy to sit on the couch for scratches. Since he was used to being with his owner all of the time, he doesn&#8217;t like to be left home alone, but the good news is, he loves running errands and going out to eat—and he&nbsp;does well in the car. He is mostly deaf, very rarely barks, and is completely unphased by children. While he is pad trained, Peanut can definitely make it without any accidents if he goes out four times a day.&#8221;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator"/>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>If you&#8217;re interested in adopting Peanut, email <a href="mailto:Liz.Raganella@pawsny.org">Liz.Raganella@pawsny.org</a> to complete an application. </strong>Feel free to spread the word and share with friends!</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In recent months, we&#8217;ve been looking to find fur-ever homes for a few of our PAWS NY pets, including senior chihuahua Midnight and a bonded pair of black cats named Inky &amp; Joy. In honor of National Pet Week, we wanted to share all of the happy adoption updates about these pets &#8211; check it out!</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator"/>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" style="text-align:center">Midnight</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Midnight_SM1.jpg?resize=512%2C512&#038;ssl=1" alt="Midnight" class="wp-image-2433" width="512" height="512"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This senior chihuahua entered our program in October 2019, but sadly, in January 2020, his guardian passed away. PAWS NY coordinated foster care while we tried to <a href="https://pawsny.org/senior-chihuahua-needs-forever-home">find the perfect home</a> for <strong>Midnight</strong> to live out his golden years.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the end, Midnight spent a total of 197 days in foster care, transferring from volunteer to volunteer a few times. PAWS NY was able to provide him with basic veterinary care, but one of his fosters paid for Midnight to get badly needed dental care worth over $1,000, an incredibly generous gift!&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We’re now happy to share that one of Midnight&#8217;s foster moms decided that he should join her family permanently and finalized the adoption last month. Midnight will spend his time basking in the sun in the backyard and shadowing his foster mom&#8217;s grandmother everywhere she goes. What a happy ending!</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator"/>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" style="text-align:center">Inky &amp; Joy</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="alignleft is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Inky_SM1.jpg?resize=325%2C325&#038;ssl=1" alt="Inky with his new siblings" class="wp-image-2434" width="325" height="325"/></figure></div>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter is-resized"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Joy_SM1.jpg?resize=325%2C325&#038;ssl=1" alt="Joy relaxing in her new home" class="wp-image-2435" width="325" height="325"/></figure></div>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You may remember that <a href="https://pawsny.org/adoptive-home-needed-for-bonded-pair-of-black-cats">earlier this year</a>, we were looking for a fur-ever home for <strong>Inky and Joy</strong>, a bonded pair of black cats, after their guardian passed away.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Ashley, one of their weekly volunteers, had been helping their guardian care for Inky and Joy since 2016 and immediately stepped in to foster both kitties. While fostering and giving both cats the time they needed to adjust to a new situation, Ashley saw how well they fit into her existing cat pack as the weeks went on.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We’re thrilled to tell you that Ashley officially adopted Inky and Joy and they have been bonding with their new siblings over paper bags, naps, and lots of stretching. Thanks for everyone who helped spread the word about these two and congrats on their fur-ever home.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator"/>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Donate to PAWS NY!<br></strong>We’re collecting donations to support our work to help vulnerable New Yorkers and their pets during this unprecedented time and beyond.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.classy.org/campaign/paws-2020-benefit-goes-digital/c279097">Click here to donate!</a></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This Valentine&#8217;s Day, snuggle up with senior chihuahua <strong>Midnight</strong>, whose favorite pastime is napping! We&#8217;re looking for a loving home to adopt Midnight, who lost his guardian a few months ago.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">At his current foster home, Midnight likes to follow grandma around and curl&nbsp;up at her feet whenever he can.&nbsp;But&nbsp;when the mood hits, Midnight will play and be quite spunky!</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator"/>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img data-recalc-dims="1" height="768" width="1024" decoding="async" src="https://i0.wp.com/pawsny.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/2020.02.04-Midnight-close-up.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&#038;ssl=1" alt="" class="wp-image-2090"/><figcaption>Midnight</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph" style="text-align:center"><strong>More about Midnight:</strong><br><br>&nbsp;? 9 pounds, 13&nbsp;years old<br>? Neutered Chihuahua<br>? Needs to be the only dog in a home with children over the age of 12.<br>&nbsp;? Midnight is very timid around strangers and it takes him a few hours to get to know someone and relax.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator"/>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Midnight is&nbsp;not a fan of unknown people approaching him from behind, strangers entering his home, or fast unpredictable movement near him. However, there has been significant improvement in these behaviors since he has been in his current foster home.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"> With the right adopter who is willing to continue to work with him around his anxiety, we are confident that Midnight would make a&nbsp;sweet and loyal companion.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>If you are interested in adopting Midnight, please email </strong><a href="mailto: referrals@pawsny.org"><strong>referrals@pawsny.org</strong></a><strong>. Thank you!</strong></p>
