Elisabeth Oliveri is a true New Yorker.

While a childhood home full of pets wasn't her story, her love for animals blossomed early, nurtured by the happy times spent with friends' dogs. Her own journey as a pet owner began more than two decades ago when she welcomed a rescue puppy into her life. This gift began a continuous, loving companionship with four-legged friends. Today, her world is brightened every day by the presence of the sweet and cherished Aretha Franklin, a five-pound, 15-year-old Yorkie who holds a special place in her heart.

Elisabeth's path to PAWS NY was guided by her desire to serve. While she started her professional life pouring her creativity into acting and the theatre industry (a commitment she still holds as a board member for the nonprofit SheNYC Arts), she became drawn toward organizations dedicated to giving back. She realized working within the nonprofit world was more her speed, which led her to a role at the Actors' Equity Association. Eventually, opportunity knocked when she had the chance to help run a small program called Pet Pals in Queens. There, she discovered that giving comfort and care to animals felt even more meaningful than her work in theatre. She expresses immense gratitude and happiness to continue this heartfelt mission with PAWS NY.

When not at work Elisabeth enjoys indulging her creative passions for interior design and fashion. Her greatest happiness, however, is found in the simple moments of quiet comfort at home, relaxing with her husband and, of course, their beautiful, beloved little dog.
