Spa Day for Angel

Pet health is important to us here at PAWS NY. We know that a healthy pet is a happy pet, and through generous supporters and volunteers, we can sometimes provide medical and grooming assistance to our clients when needed. We have many successful partnerships with amazing veterinarians in NYC and we are excited to announce that we have formed a new relationship with The Pet Maven, a dog and cat house call grooming business.

The Pet Maven provides the benefits of grooming while at the pet’s home, minimizing the amount of stress on the animal. The affiliation between The Pet Maven and PAWS NY, highlighted the result of this beneficial collaboration when we needed to groom Angel, a 17-year old feline. PAWS NY was in a tight situation when it came to Angel’s case, we knew as an older pet the stress of moving Angel from her home would strain her physically, and cause her to become upset even before the grooming took place.

The Pet Maven agreed to help us with Angel and she came to the rescue just in time. Angel, being an older girl, couldn’t groom herself any longer and therefore developed mats along her back. Angel’s mom, who is 95 years old, finds it hard to brush Angel on a daily basis. As you can see from the before and after photos, Angel is once again comfortable in her own skin.
