Summer Success!
Summer 2016!
PAWS NY takes great pride in our volunteers and partners, and we understand that our supporters, like you, allow us to fulfill our mission of helping to keep people and their pets together. We are thrilled to announce that the shared belief in the power of the human-animal bond led to an exciting collaboration between Google, PetFlow, BarkBox and PAWS NY.
GoogleServe is a service initiative where Google employees around the world participate in local community service projects.Last year more than 12,000 Googlers from 70+ offices participated in 800+ projects. We were honored that volunteer and Board Member Karin M. helped ensure PAWS NY’s spot as a participating charity for GoogleServe 2016.
On June 10th, Google volunteers gathered into teams and set out to deliver food to our clients and theirs pets. This was made possible thanks to the generosity of Google and PetFlow (who donated pet food), and BarkBox (who donated dog toys/treats) In one afternoon, GoogleServe volunteers delivered 824 pounds of food to help 40 clients and their 52 pets! PetFlow said “Life is full of challenges, but we think that keeping your pantry stocked with pet food shouldn’t be one of them!” We couldn’t agree more!
When communities come together to help those around them, amazing memories are made. PAWS NY is so grateful for the support provided by Google, PetFlow, and BarkBox, and we hope to have the privilege of participating in GoogleServe again next year!
If you are looking for a volunteer activity that isn’t time-consuming, consider becoming a pet food sponsor! For more information, please email Liz DeSimone at [email protected].
