PAWS NY Receives Grant From Marta Heflin Foundation To Formalize Innovative Foster and Emergency Care Program

New York, NY, February 22, 2018 – Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS NY) is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a generous $10,000 grant from Marta Heflin Foundation for its Foster and Emergency Care Program. Through this program, PAWS NY cares for pets whose guardians are hospitalized or facing medical emergencies. Individuals often neglect medical care and place their health at risk if they cannot find someone to care for their pets in their absence. The goal of the Foster and Emergency Care Program is to ensure that clients have access to pet care so they do not deny their own need for hospitalization or otherwise put their health at risk. PAWS NY Founder and Executive Director, Rachel Herman, states, “We are so grateful to Marta Heflin Foundation for its support of this program. This grant allows us to provide help in the most difficult of situations, and we are honored to have a partner who understands the importance of this work.”
